Design Team Sign-up Form
Want to learn some new skills and have fun? Take a leadership role on the Snowboard Design Team and you will learn FAST.
We will be having an election in the near future to form an executive committee. please click
here to see the positions you can apply for.
Nominations will begin October 10th until the day before the Election Day (to be determined).
You must nominate yourself by emailing the club, either at
or through our contact page,
and include the following information:
You must submit a separate nomination for each position you are interested in. It is possible for one member to hold more than one position.

- One paragraph describing why you would be the best person to fill the role.

The following is only a few of the things that you can do within the club, all you have to do is sign up!
Design & Construction
Work with other members to contemplate designs and build snowboards
- Manage materials and
tools to be ordered for the team
- Find material Suppliers
- Learn to operate our very own CNC Machine.
This is a computer controlled cutting machine that will help us make smooth cuts and perfect shapes for our snowboards.
- Learn to produce required
designs in a CAD program
- Learn to use CNC software
Help our Industrial Liaison
- Compile a list of companies
to be approached for sponsorship and develop contacts with these companies
- Obtain from sponsors:
product information, career opportunities for team members
- Create and/or improve
the sponsorship package
- Maintain contact with
the Engineering Society Sponsorhip Director (firstname.lastname@example.org)
- Meet companies that can become your future employer.
- Updating content and
maintaining the team's website
- Using the website as a tool to update team members and promote our club.
- Filming and photography
- Coordinate competitions
with other universities (includes finding competitions to enter or creating
a competition for other universities to enter)
- Organize and run social
- Create promotional
videos for the website
- Learn the newest technologies
- Develop marketing plan
and sales of snowboards produced
- Research what students
want, such as pricing and design
- Providing snowboard designs
- Making and/or adding to the Team's display
board (used at events such as the March Break open house, Frosh Week, etc.)
- Should work with both people that do promotion for the team,
as well as the people dealing with marketing and sales to decide on graphics that would best suit the various applications.
- Oversee club operations
- Helping set goals for the club, and its members.
- Provide support where needed to achieve team goals

We are currently working on a few bugs with the CNC machine.
Once this is complete we will be cutting out the snowboard press, and begin making snowboards!
